MRO – Shot Peening Services<\/h2>\n

SONATS provides its ultrasonic MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) shot peening services directly at customer sites worldwide using manual and automated portable equipment. Our subcontracting shot peening activity work is conducted at our Carquefou workshop (44, France), for offloading or series production.<\/p>\n

Using manual and automated industrial equipment designed and manufactured by SONATS, our qualified and experienced team of MRO technicians has been providing quality service for over 30 years.<\/p>\n

Example of Shot peening services on steam turbine<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Shot peening treatment before putting into operation turbines in order to increase their fatigue life cycle.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During last subcontracting service, 4 technicians process for two weeks to the treatment of turbine Fir Tree Groove.<\/p>\n

The team was equipped with 4 ruggedized portative equipment, STRESSVOYAGER\u00ae<\/a>,\u00a0 each of it capable of activated simultaneously two treatment heads to shot peen a total of 8 areas at the same time in order to reduce the overall treatment period.<\/p>\n

Prior to the service, an entire qualification process has been realized on a representative model of the part to define the treatment parameters to reach the residual stresses, rugosity and coverage required.<\/p>\n

HERMETIC PEENING<\/h3>\n

No risk of media loss allows us to ensure ultrasonic shot peening treatment directly on assembled elements (SONATS on-site treatment for transportable sub-assemblies, treatment directly in-situ for non-transportable assemblies).<\/p>\n

Sealing the treatment chamber allows us to use a very small amount of balls for shot peening.
