CONTOUR METHOD FOR RESIDUAL STRESS MEASUREMENTS

The contour method is a destructive technique to characterize the distribution of residual stresses in a part section. It is often used to optimize manufacturing and forming process. We provide measurements services on your site or in our laboratory.

EDDY CURRENT TESTING FOR RESIDUAL STRESS MEASUREMENTS

The testing of residual stresses via multi-frequencies eddy current is a non-destructive method used to optimize manufacturing and several mechanical processes and control and qualify parts on assembly line. SONATS provides services of residual stresses testing via eddy current in laboratory or on site.

MEASUREMENTS AND ANALYSIS OF RESIDUAL STRESSES

The SONATS laboratory uses destructive and non-destructive methods (X-ray diffraction, incremental hole drilling, mechanical relaxation method etc.) and provides comprehensive expertise of residual stress and analysis of metallic materials.

INCREMENTAL HOLE DRILLING

Incremental hole drilling strain gauge method (Incremental Hole drilling technique) is a semi-destructive method widely used in the energy, aeronautical and land transport sectors.

MATERIALS ANALYSIS

SONATS is equipped with all the means and tools necessary for metallurgical analysis and controls.

All of our investigative methods can be used to complete an expert analysis, especially for residual stress measurements and dimensional controls.

RING CORE METHOD

Our team of experts can conduct the Ring Core Method analysis, another strain gage method with high depth of investigation and high sensitivity to the strains.

X-RAY DIFFRACTION

X-ray diffraction (XRD) is a reliable decades-old technique for the analysis of residual stresses on a wide range of mechanical parts and materials in various industrial sectors.
